What is oriental ratsnake?

The Oriental ratsnake, also known as the Asian ratsnake or the beauty ratsnake, is a species of non-venomous snake found throughout Asia. They are often described as slender and agile, with a body that can grow up to 7 feet in length. Their coloring can vary between shades of brown, green, black, and gray.

Oriental ratsnakes are primarily nocturnal and arboreal, meaning they spend most of their time in trees. They are also known for their excellent climbing abilities. They are opportunistic hunters, and prey on a variety of small animals, including rodents, birds, and lizards.

While not dangerous to humans, Oriental ratsnakes can be defensive when threatened and will bite if provoked. However, they are generally considered to have a docile temperament.

In the pet trade, Oriental ratsnakes are popular due to their attractive coloring and relative ease of care. They require a large, well-ventilated enclosure and a diet of appropriately-sized rodents. They also benefit from regular handling to prevent aggression and promote socialization.
